Partnerships

As a small charity playing an important role in supporting people affected by neurological conditions across North Wales, Cheshire and the Wirral, we embrace working with partner organisations to enhance our services and help us achieve our aims.

We welcome opportunities to work with new partners – so if your organisation would like to work with us do get in touch.

Education

We offer work placement and training opportunities to students from Chester University, Wrexham Glyndwr University and Keele University. These take place in a number of our areas including occupational therapy and physiotherapy.

We have also worked with these universities on research projects relating to the conditions we support.

Carers

We receive funding support for our services for carers from our local councils in the region including Cheshire West and Chester Council, Flintshire County Council and Denbighshire County Council.

We also encourage carers to access the support offered by NEWCIS which enables them to receive help towards our Fatigue Management classes, counselling and funding for therapies/respite.

We work with these partners to develop support opportunities for carers and to promote services.

Health

We join with other members in the Neurological Alliance to proactively raise awareness of neurological condition issues and work together to improve support.

We also work with the West Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health board and the Walton Centre as well as general practitioners to encourage referrals to our Centre to help people with neurological conditions access our support.

Widening our services

We are currently working with Brio Leisure and the Walton Centre with the support of Sheffield Hallam University, the MS Society and Parkinson’s UK on a new project to provide increased exercise opportunities for people with neurological conditions. The ‘Access to Exercise’ project started in 2018 and will run for 3 years funded by Sport England.
